Education in  Contemporary  India
Education : Meaning 
                 Etymologically the term ‘Education ’ is traced to different sources of derivation. According to one view Education has originated from the Latin word ‘ Educare ’ which means ‘ to bring up’ or ‘ to nourish ’.
                   There is another derivation from the Latin word ‘ educere ’ which means ‘ to lead out ’.Some maintain that the word education has been formulated from the word‘ educo’, in Latin ‘ E ’ means out of and ‘ duco ’ means to lead thus educo means to lead out of ignorance. 
             Education is a triangular process. It involves the inter - play of the educator, the educand and the social forces. 
Definition :
             “ Education is the creation of a sound mind in a sound body. ”
                                        - Aristotle 
           “ Education is natural, harmonious and progressive development of man's innate powers ”
                                      - Pestalozzi 
         
Nature of Education :
Education is a life long process :
                   Education is life long process because every stage of life of an individual is important from educational point. 
Education is a systematic process :
                  It refers to transact its activities through a systematic institution and regulation.
Education is the development of individual and the society :
                    It is called a force for social development which brings improvement in every aspect of the society.
